Benzene reaction

Benzene reaction can be summaries in one. I used to find difficulty to differential the various reaction such as electrophilic aromatic substitution or nucleophilic aromatic substitution.

Here is asSummary of the benzene reactions overall in between various substitutents.

Benzene Reaction - electrophilic aromatic substitution and nucleophilic aromatic substitution with the products in para, orthro and meta position. in addition to Benzyne intermediate and diazonium salt

Step 1 are crucial for the step 2. The preparation of the the first substitution makes the reaction easy to form para, orthro and meta direct substitutions. In addition to that, diazonium salt and benzyne intermediate are formed as well.

Step1 After Electrophilic Aromatic Substitution- the product is to add a substituents on benzene and gives:

Electrophilic aromatic substitution: the first step to add substitution to benzene.

With the help of the group, this sets of first benzene subsitutents gives more option in the second benzene  synthesis

Step 2  Nucleophilic Aromatic Substitution- Replace a Group on the Step 1 products. This step 2 helps to form various substitiuent benzene in below

Nucleophilic aromatic substitution: add an nucleophile and replace of the first substitution and give out benzyne intermediate, diazonium salt and products in para, orthro and meta position.
